Embrace Exploring Chamonix’s Mountain Areas.

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Some people see travelling between Chamonix’s mountain areas as a negative, but personally I’ve travelled on much longer journeys for much more mundane reasons.  This valley offers some of the world’s best skiing, visitors to Chamonix should embrace the mountain’s disjointed character cause it’s pretty ace when you think about it.  Unlike other resorts where you’re stuck with the conditions the mountain offers and have to ride it out (or not in some cases) Chamonix offers a variety mountains and conditions. More mountain areas mean you’ll never be far away from a great days skiing; having a bad day in Brevent? Pop over to Flegere.  If the whole of Chamonix is a wash out, which is pretty damn rare, then French, Swiss and Italian resorts like Courmayeur, Verbier, and Megeve are only a car journey or bus ride away which is unknown in other resorts.

You just have to visit the valley to appreciate the amazing mountains and off piste pote ntial Chamonix has to offer.  As they say, variety is the spice of life and Chamonix offers it by the bucket load.  I can’t wait to explore the slopes of Chamonix, and, if hopping on a bus is the cost to access some of the best skiing in Europe then you won’t find me grumbling.
